Buying property in Turkey is a straight forward procedure compared to other European countries. Foreigners may purchase land and property under their own names. With the recent change to the law foreigners may now purchase where before was restricted or prohibited. We will ensure your experience will be trouble free.

Legal Requirements…….

- The Deeds of Ownership known as the ‘Tapu’ may only be signed by the new owner (or representative/Power of Attorney). This person must be present at the Land Registry Office on the final day to sign and collect the official papers of ownership ‘Tapu’.
 

- A copy of the purchasers ID card/ passport

- Should the property be purchased by more then one person, copies and photos of all parties is required.

- 2 x colour passport photographs

Just a few easy steps to your New Home……..

- Choose your New Home from the following;:

1) Finished Property/ Resale Property

2) New Development

3) Purchase land, design and build your new home

- Change of ownership must be registered with the Land Registry Office

- Once the transfer from old to new owner is complete the legal ‘Deed of Ownership’ ‘Tapu’ is issued in the new owner’s full name. Both parties should be present with required ID card/passport. Should one party be foreign then an interpreter is required as this stage to translate all documents.

- This procedure takes approximately 2-3 months depending on the time of year (summer months can be very
busy)

- The Deed of Ownership ‘Tapu’ is issued to the new owner.

- Property Tax/Stamp Duty is 3% (officially 1.5% to the buyer & seller) of the purchase price stated on the "Tapu", the full 3% normally falls to the buyer. This payment is made on the day the Tapu is signed at the Deeds Office. The official "Tapu" is issued there and then and handed to the purchaser.
